Local sources told Voice of Hindukush that Pakistani Taliban attacked Pakistani militia positions in Bajaur district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, killing eight personnel and injuring four others.
According to the sources, the attacks took place on Sunday in the Kharkamar and Tangisar areas of Bajaur district.
Meanwhile, the Pakistani Taliban’s governor for Bajaur, Maulana Tahir Khaki, said that after sustaining heavy losses in the fighting, Pakistani militia forces retreated and sought refuge in civilian homes.
He added that attacks on Pakistani militia positions continued throughout the day.
