In the previous administration, the Minister of Justice and a key member of the Resistance Front, Fazl Ahmad Manavi, has shed light on the relations between the Taliban and the Resistance Front. He stated that the Resistance Front had indirect and continuous contacts with the former Minister of Refugees of the Taliban.
Close circles of Ata Mohammad Noor, Abdul Rashid Dostum, and Yunus Qanuni have also reached the conclusion that the confidential voice messages of Ata Mohammad Noor, Dostum, and Qanuni were shared with the Hindukush Voice by Fazl Ahmad Manavi. These circles believe that Fazl Ahmad Manavi has a history of leaking secrets, and it is not far-fetched that he might have done the same in this case.
The recent statements of Ma’nawi have raised numerous criticisms and questions from social media activists; without providing further clarification on the content, focus, and details of his relations with the Taliban, he has kept this matter hidden since the beginning of the Panjshir war.
Fazl Ahmad Ma’nawi stated in his remarks that the connections with the Taliban continued from the beginning of the Panjshir battles until the time when a suicide attack was carried out on Khalil-ur-Rahman Haqqani. He adds that the leader of the Resistance Front, Ahmad Massoud, did not have direct contacts with Khalil-ur-Rehman Haqqani, but Haqqani’s efforts to prevent the fighting continued until the end.
In response to Ma’nawi’s statements, activists supporting the Resistance Front on social media have claimed that these treacherous fronts, under the guise of resistance, have negotiated over their slain members and prisoners and are engaging in secret negotiations with the Taliban instead of fighting them.
Activists of the Resistance Front have also said that if the front is in constant contact with the Taliban, then why did it declare war against them? Why are the people’s children being fought against the Taliban? And why have thousands of people remained imprisoned due to the affiliation of this front? They added that in three and a half years, the Resistance Front had not achieved any significant political or military gains due to these contacts.
It is worth noting that the Resistance Front is in a state of disarray. This front has not received any internal or external support so far. Additionally, it has lost its operational capability and has been divided and separated due to deep internal conflicts and disputes over money, which can be considered the clear factors of its failure.
