The White House announced that President Donald Trump will impose tariffs starting Saturday: 25% on Mexican goods, 25% on Canadian goods, and 10% on Chinese goods.

Although Trump stated that the tariff on Canadian oil will initially be 10%, he warned that it could increase by mid-February.

Trump also mentioned that tariffs will be imposed on goods from European Union countries in the future, as he believes the bloc has not treated the U.S. fairly.

White House spokeswoman Caroline Levitt explained that tariffs on Canada and Mexico were imposed because “they have allowed the import and distribution of the drug fentanyl in our country, resulting in the deaths of tens of millions of Americans.”
