The Indian government has reported the death of 31 Naxal rebels during extensive military operations in Chhattisgarh state on Sunday, as reported by Anadolu News Agency. The operations occurred in Bijapur district, where, in addition to the 31 Naxal rebels, two Indian soldiers also lost their lives.
Naxal rebels, also known as Maoist rebels, have been active in India for the past three decades, claiming to fight for the rights of tribal communities in the country.
