Mullah Abdul Wasi, Head of Staff for the Prime Minister’s Office, met with Chinese Ambassador Zhao Xing in Kabul to discuss bilateral relations, according to an official statement from the Arg (Presidential Palace).

During the meeting, Mullah Abdul Wasi urged China to continue its diplomatic efforts toward recognizing Afghanistan’s interim government. He also emphasized the strategic importance of reopening the Wakhan Corridor, which he noted would facilitate trade and travel between the two countries.

Ambassador Zhao reiterated China’s commitment to supporting Afghanistan in international forums. He highlighted the strengthening of bilateral relations over the past year, citing the issuance of visas to 11,000 Afghan nationals as a key example of China’s ongoing engagement.
