32 years ago, amidst the devastating internal wars led by warlords and self-proclaimed leaders, the suffering people of the Afshar region of Kabul witnessed the darkest days of their lives.
On the 21st and 22nd of Dalwa 1371 (February 10-11, 1993), the forces of the Shura-ye Nazar, led by Ahmad Shah Massoud, that treacherous, self-serving traitor, attacked the Afshar area of Kabul, which at that time was inhabited by the Hazara people and committed horrific crimes; crimes that even the narrators of history are ashamed to recount.
During this attack, carried out under the direct orders and leadership of Ahmad Shah Massoud, hundreds of our Hazara compatriots were ruthlessly killed, their possessions were looted, many women were raped and this impoverished area was turned into a terrifying ruin. So much so that a 1993 human rights report by the U.S. State Department mentioned the number of casualties in this atrocity to be around a thousand.
Since the establishment of the Western puppet republic and the rise to power of Masoud’s followers and those directly involved in these crimes, extensive efforts have been made to censor this historical atrocity; to the extent that despite the repeated pleas for justice from the victims of this incident, the perpetrators and instigators of this crime were never brought to trial.
The wicked and followers of Massoud made numerous efforts to erase this stain of disgrace from their leader’s forehead and wash his bloodied hands of the innocent blood; however, this unforgivable crime is so great and profound that even after many years, the suffering Hazara people have not forgotten their lost ones and have not forgiven the perpetrators of this crime. This horrific crime is etched like a black mark on the forehead of Massoud and his followers, revealing their dark character to the world.
With the fall of the republic and the removal of warlords and the criminal gang of Massoud from power, in the past few days, the Hazara people of Afghanistan have launched a major campaign on social media, demanding the prosecution of those responsible for the Afshar massacre.
However, the followers of the Resistance Front and other opponents of the caretaker government, each of whom has been involved in internal conflicts and the Afshar massacre in one way or another, are accusing this campaign and those striving for justice of inciting discord between the Tajik and Hazara communities and calling them agents of foreign powers in order to evade justice and cover up this heinous crime.
While the perpetrators of this crime are the true instigators of discord and division among the ethnic groups of Afghanistan, each of them has repeatedly exploited the names and addresses of various ethnic groups to serve their personal interests and has often exacerbated ethnic and factional conflicts.
