Reports indicate that the military wing of the Al-Qaeda, Harakat al-Shabab al-Mujahideen, has taken control of the city of Towfiq in Somalia’s Shabelle region.
The reports further reveal that in the clash, 11 Somali soldiers were killed, five were captured, and dozens more sustained injuries.
Additionally, sources suggest that Al-Shabab forces seized a significant amount of military equipment, including vehicles, weapons, and ammunition, during the battle.
