The Embassy of Iran in Kabul has announced that the Afghanistan-Iran-Europe railway trade corridor is now operational. Afghanistan’s first export shipment has been sent through this corridor to Turkey, where it will then be transported to Europe.

The Consul General of Iran in Herat, the Governor of Herat, and several other regional officials attended the ceremony marking the launch of exports via this corridor.

The embassy also highlighted that, in collaboration with Iran, the activation of this corridor could significantly contribute to Afghanistan’s economic development.
