Although the skeleton of the fallen republic was made up of such officials and individuals who did not value Afghanistan, Afghans, and the country’s values and national interests even as much as a fig, but prioritized their personal interests and the satisfaction of their masters above all else. These and many other reasons had eroded the people’s and the public’s trust in the republican regime from the very beginning. To the people, those officials, policies, laws, values, standards, and ultimately everything appeared foreign, and therefore they felt a sense of alienation towards them.
This relationship was the same for the officials of the Republic. The officials were alien to the people, the people’s demands and values were worthless to them, and only the orders, demands, policies, laws, and plans of their donors were important. They made many sacrifices to implement these and also imposed and enforced them on the Afghan people. Most of the officials of the previous Republic were raised, trained, and appointed by the West. Another group was appointed at the behest and satisfaction of neighboring countries and worked according to their preferences and plans.
Another group consisted of mysterious, duplicitous, and multifaceted intelligence operatives who appeared very experienced and well-trained. They would ostensibly introduce themselves as the closest allies of the Afghans, making grand speeches on stages, publicly criticizing neighboring countries, but secretly carrying the passports of those very countries in their pockets. They would travel there almost every month and would be guests at the embassies of those countries in Kabul almost every night, obtaining plans and agendas for the new day, new week, new month, and new year from them.
Although the game was known to the people at that time, now those same officials are openly shouting that yes! That’s how things were going. Among them is the important official and minister of the fallen republic, Omar Daudzai, who just two or three days ago said in a public meeting that Karzai would appoint those figures and pawns in high positions and ministries in Afghanistan to please and satisfy Pakistan, who were either instructed by Pakistan or were loyal to them.
This story was also ongoing with other countries, especially Western countries and the United States. Many ministers and officials were appointed or dismissed via emails from the U.S. embassy or military bases in Kabul. Interestingly, these same officials would then label those who raised their voices and took up arms against their nefarious plans and the West’s policies and military presence as agents of other countries.
