American media outlets report that Afghan refugees who fled to the United States with the assistance of U.S. forces following the collapse of the Republic have been given a one-week deadline to leave the country. Failure to comply will result in forced deportation and potential legal action.

The warning was issued by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security via email to Afghan refugees residing in the United States. The email strongly urges them to depart the country as soon as possible.

The email further states that those who do not leave voluntarily will be identified by the U.S. government and forcibly expelled.
