U.S. media report that hundreds of Afghans who converted to Christianity after the U.S. military’s withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021 are now facing the threat of expulsion from the United States.

According to reports, nearly 9,000 Afghans living legally in the U.S. will be affected by this move, as they await the processing of their Special Immigrant Visa applications.

Fox News has reported that among those affected are numerous Afghan Christians, many of whom converted after the U.S. military’s withdrawal from Afghanistan.

Earlier, U.S. media had reported that Afghans who fled to the U.S. with American forces following the collapse of the former republic were asked to leave the country within one week.
