Halim Fidayee, who served as governor of Khost under the fallen republic, has warned India against placing trust in U.S. support, (based on his statement) they trusted U.S. support and are still facing the consequences.

“If India can act independently, that is good; otherwise, do not rely on U.S. support—you will ultimately bear the cost,” he said.

Fidayee’s remarks come as relations between India and the United States continue to grow, with Washington seeking deeper strategic cooperation with New Delhi.
