The Khost Provincial Police Command has announced the arrest of three individuals in connection with the attempted forced marriage of a girl.

According to an official statement, officers from the Criminal Investigation Department of Gurbuz District detained the suspects following a formal petition submitted by the girl. The petition stated that efforts were underway to forcibly marry her to someone without her will or consent.

The statement confirmed that the individuals taken into custody are the girl’s father, brother, and uncle.

It is worth noting that the leadership of the interim government has issued a decree on women’s rights that prohibits the marriage of women without their consent. In line with this decree, similar cases are being prevented across several provinces.
