Yesterday’s Allies’ Outcry against Today’s Leader; Ahmad Massoud under the Criticism of his Own Allies!

With nearly four years passing since the establishment of the caretaker government and the announcement of the Resistance Front outside the borders of this land, many voices have now risen from within this front, speaking of the incompetence of Ahmad Massoud, the self-proclaimed leader of this infamous front.

The root of all these internal discontentments within the front can be attributed to Ahmad Massoud’s complete failure in the struggle against the caretaker government; in such a way that he not only failed to establish a foothold for this front within Afghanistan, but also did not succeed in garnering support from foreign countries.

During Ahmad Massoud’s recent trip to Iran and his meetings with the Revolutionary Guards and intelligence agencies of that country, a wave of dissatisfaction has emerged among the supporters of this front; protests that we will address in this note, focusing on two of them, which have previously been published by the “Voice of Hindukush” organization.

Idrees Stanikzai is one of these two individuals; a person who served as an advisor in the Ministry of Interior during the fallen Republic regime. In response to Ahmad Massoud’s recent trip to Iran, he stated that Ahmad Massoud is a spy and, after being rejected by the Americans, is now trying to meet with the Revolutionary Guard and the Iranian intelligence agency to obtain money and office space from them in exchange for serving Iran’s interests in Afghanistan.

According to Stanikzai, Ahmad Massoud, after losing the support of Western countries, especially the United States, has turned back to the old patrons of his father, Ahmad Shah Massoud, particularly the intelligence agencies of Iran and Pakistan, and is now trying to gain their support and accept their servitude.

He continued his speech by referring to the true nature of warlords and added that Ahmad Massoud, like other warlords, including his father, is trying once again to sacrifice thousands of Tajik youth for his own and others’ interests by exploiting the name of ethnicity and lineage, while keeping all the privileges for his family.

Another supporter of the Resistance Front, whose remarks have been published in four parts by the “Voice of Hindukush” organization, says in a harsh tone: “Ahmad Massoud is corrupt and surrounded by corrupt people; he is neither a leader nor does he understand anything about leadership. He is like a child and knows nothing about politics. He has no future; it would be better for him to go study for now.”

He accused Ahmad Massoud of being indifferent to the families whose children were deceived by this front and lost their lives in the pursuit of Massoud’s whims, adding: “You have ruined the people, especially the people of Panjshir. May Allah ruin you!”

This angry supporter of the Resistance Front, who has now realized the truth about its self-proclaimed leaders, points to Masoud’s incompetence and his inability to effectively fight against the caretaker government, saying: “What have you done for the people in these past four years? Which of their pains have you alleviated, and which flowers have you watered? Have you even looked at the dire situation of the refugees in these difficult conditions?”

Really, if the opposition fronts of the caretaker government claim to support these suffering people, why have they remained silent in the case of the dire situation of refugees and their forced expulsion from countries like Iran and Pakistan? Isn’t it true that if they criticize the actions of Iran and Pakistan, they will lose their last patrons and sources of support, and their personal interests will be jeopardized?

He adds that the Resistance Front and its leaders have achieved nothing, and no government is willing to engage in dialogue with them or listen to their words. According to him, the leaders of the Front live a peaceful and prosperous life abroad with their families, but they invite the children of the people to war and violence.

In the end, he also admits a bitter truth and says, “By Allah, the Taliban government is a hundred times better than the one you want to build; there is no wine, bullying, or oppression there. Yes, there are problems. Every government has problems, even in America, Pakistan, and Turkey.”

In conclusion, it can be said that what has leaked from within the structure of the Resistance Front today is more than anything a sign of the gradual collapse of a failed and rootless political project; a movement that has chanted slogans of support for the people but has in practice become a symbol of corruption, selfishness, and opportunism.

The cries of protest from yesterday’s allies reflect the truth that this front has not only failed to lift a burden off the people’s shoulders but has also rubbed salt in their wounds; a people who have been victims for years of the ambitions of leaders who have cared for nothing but their own interests.
