News: The day before yesterday, sources from the Ministry of Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice told the Voice of Hindukush that they had arrested a dangerous gang of sorcerers in Kabul, which had been active in the city for a long time. This gang was involved in disrupting social order, causing severe disputes and conflicts among families, and exploiting the general public, especially women, by offering sorcery and magic services in exchange for money. The members of this gang also confessed to their crime and stated that they had made a lot of money from it.
Comment: In Afghanistan, one of the many ways to disrupt domestic and social order is through sorcery and magic. For a long time, certain circles, groups, and individuals have been trying to dismantle existing domestic systems, disrupt social order, increase distrust and enmity within the community, and create a criminal economic source for a few individuals.
This phenomenon, like some others, is somewhat complex, and unfortunately, previous governments not only did nothing to prevent it but also, in a way, tried to promote it. Hundreds and even thousands of families have been victimized by the evil phenomena of sorcery and witchcraft in Afghanistan, thousands of people have been deceived and tricked, and many families have been plunged into sorrow and enmity.
With the arrival of the current regime in Afghanistan, sorcery, like other crimes such as drug trafficking, gambling, smuggling, kidnapping, theft, and usurpation, are also viewed as crimes, and even major crimes, and serious and decisive steps are being taken against them.
In the past nearly four years, dozens and possibly hundreds of people have been imprisoned due to this malicious phenomenon, and their many wicked actions and efforts have been thwarted in society.
This phenomenon is more dangerous than others because, on one hand, it threatens family and social order, plunging families into grief and mourning, creating enmity and suspicion. On the other hand, it gives businesses more power to exploit victims, who are mostly women, further taking advantage of them, blackmailing them, extorting money from them, and making additional malicious demands in exchange for not spreading their photos and videos on social media, which in itself paves the way for many other organized crimes.
So, as there are many sensitivities towards this phenomenon, serious attempts have been taken to prevent it, and these attempts should be increased further. Public awareness in society should be raised so that people do not approach these unscrupulous businessmen and do not fall into their traps of deceit and trickery.
