Deal and Fall; Rahmatullah Nabil’s Confession and the Shameful End of the Republic’s Philosophy

Just as the foundations of the fallen republic were built from the beginning on lies and deals, similarly, all the figures associated with this regime were deeply entrenched in incompetence, treachery, and betrayal. Their silence, movements, confessions, and criticisms were always and at every moment solely for their own objectives.

The officials of the fallen republic, who now make statements under the guise of confession, do not aim to tell the truth to the nation or seek genuine forgiveness. Rather, they want to evade responsibility, save themselves, and present a facade of innocence before history. One of these figures is “Rahmatullah Nabil,” who was an important yet contradictory figure during the time of the fallen republic.

Rahmatullah Nabil, in his recent statements, criticized the silence of politicians during the fall of the fallen republic and their current opposition to Zalmay Khalilzad and his wife, calling it a belated awakening of the consciences of former politicians and high-ranking officials.

But behind Nabil’s statements, the apparent goal is not to tell the truth to the people or to be a remedy for any other pain but rather to save his own name. Nabil wants to portray himself as a victim of the plans instead of a participant in the plans during the downfall, which is an old political tactic; when there is no power, confessions are merely an attempt to escape the judgment of history.

Someone like Nabil, who is aware of all the strategic secrets and dealings of a regime and, at the time of the regime’s collapse, does not take a stand as a leading security figure, does not resist, but rather chooses silence, this silence cannot be justified in any way other than being a deal and hope for the survival of power; Nabil’s silence at that time was to maintain his position, and his current confessions and statements are to maintain his name.

Overall, the officials of the fallen republic want to play the “I am innocent” card through such confessions, but the Afghan people are already tired of these individuals; their confessions do not sit well with them, nor do they have any appetite for their deceptions.
