The Ministry of Water and Energy of Tajikistan has announced that the CASA-1000 project between Pakistan and Tajikistan will be completed by December 2026.
Tajikistan’s Deputy Minister of Water and Energy, Jamshed Shoaimzada, stated that the project will be completed by the end of 2026, after which the transmission of 1,000 megawatts of electricity to Pakistan will commence.
According to his statement, once completed, the project will officially be handed over for operational use.
It is worth noting that the total cost of the CASA-1000 project is estimated at $1.17 billion. Upon completion, 300 megawatts of electricity will be supplied to Afghanistan and 1,000 megawatts to Pakistan, as per the agreement.
