    Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue: Online Threats, Insults and Harassment via Fake Accounts Classified as Criminal Offenses

    Mawlawi Saif-ul-Islam Khyber, spokesperson for the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice and Complaints Hearing, announced on his official X account that issuing threats, insults, intimidation, or harassing individuals on social media, particularly through fake accounts, is considered a criminal offense and will be pursued by the ministry.

    He added that social media platforms are intended for the sharing of authentic information, education, commerce and public awareness and should be utilized exclusively for those useful purposes.
