Deputy Spokesperson for the Interim Government, Mullah Hamdullah Fitrat, stated in a press release that Deputy Administrative Chief of the Prime Minister’s Office, Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanafi, along with an accompanying delegation, has arrived in Herat to assess the situation of forcibly expelled Afghan citizens.

According to the statement, the delegation, led by Mawlawi Hanafi, who also chairs the High Commission for Addressing Refugee Affairs, will closely monitor the process of forced expulsion from neighboring Iran and will take immediate action to provide essential services and address the challenges faced by returnees.

In recent days, the forced expulsion of Afghan refugees from Iran has accelerated, with estimates suggesting that over 100,000 citizens have returned to the country in just the past several days.
