Pakistani Taliban Movement: Our Ongoing Struggle Is Born of Pakistani Government’s Injustices, We Don’t Need Afghan Territory to Continue it

The Pakistani Taliban Movement has strongly rejected recent statements made by Pakistan’s permanent representative to the United Nations, who claimed that the Movement’s fighters cross into Pakistan from Afghanistan.

In a statement, the Movement’s spokesperson, Mohammad Khurasani, said the Pakistani representative’s remarks were a clear attempt to cover up Pakistan’s weakness in the face of rising internal resistance, while seeking political and military support.

Khurasani added that Pakistan has previously made similar baseless accusations to gain international support.
“Pakistan lured American financial assistance by making false promises of establishing regional stability and security, which it used to erect a 12-foot-high, 5-foot-wide barbed wire fence along the 2,700-kilometer-long Durand Line.”

The Movement’s spokesperson emphasized that their forces are already well-organized, with established military structures from Gilgit to Balochistan, and from Hazara to Punjab and Karachi, with thousands of fighters locally rooted in these areas.

The Movement called on the UN and relevant parties to verify Pakistan’s claims through an independent and professional fact-finding mission.

Khurasani concluded by reiterating that their ongoing struggle and combat is a direct result of the Pakistani government’s injustices and does not need the use of Afghan territory or any other country’s soil.
