At least 60 people were killed when militias supported by the United Arab Emirates struck a camp for internally displaced people in El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur, using drones.

Health authorities confirmed the attack and said that all those killed were civilians.

Since April 15, 2023, intense fighting has taken place between the Rapid Support Forces, an armed group backed by the UAE and the Sudanese Armed Forces.

What began as a struggle for control over key areas, including Khartoum and parts of Darfur, has escalated into a widespread and increasingly deadly civil war.
