U.S. President Donald Trump said U.S. forces struck a Venezuelan port reportedly used to traffic illegal drugs.

Reuters, citing Trump, reported that loud explosions were heard at the port.

CNN called the incident as the first strike on Venezuelan soil officially confirmed by the United States.

Trump provided no additional information on how the operation was carried out.
