The Panjshir Provincial Media Office stated in a press release sent to Voice of Hindukush that remote areas of Rukha and Hesa-e-Awal districts of the province have, for the first time, come under the coverage of 3G internet services.

The statement said that over the past two years, public access to telecommunications and internet services in Panjshir province has increased significantly. According to the information, currently 90 percent of the province’s residents have access to telecommunications services, and 57 percent have access to internet services.

According to the press release, during the period of the former republic, only 50 percent of Panjshir residents had access to telecommunications services, and about 30 percent had access to weak internet services.

It is worth noting that construction work on five new telecommunications sites is also underway in several other areas of Panjshir province, which are expected to become operational in the near future.
