    Minister of Refugees and Repatriation: The International Community Should Not Tie Humanitarian Aid to Political Issues

    The Minister of Refugees and Repatriation, Mawlawi Abdul Kabir, made these remarks during a meeting with Arafat Jamal, the representative of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Afghanistan.

    According to a statement from the ministry, the meeting discussed the delivery of essential assistance to returning Afghans and the removal of obstacles in the operational field.

    Arafat Jamal, expressing gratitude for the cooperation of the Ministry of Refugees, said that hundreds of needed tents have been prepared for returnees in Kunar and will soon be delivered to the area.

    Meanwhile, the Minister of Refugees stated that with the arrival of winter, the Islamic Emirate has launched a program of cash assistance for returnees in addition to food aid.

    Mawlawi Abdul Kabir also assured the continued cooperation of the Islamic Emirate with United Nations agencies in the field of refugees.
