Afghanistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the explosion that took place during Friday prayers at a mosque in Pakistan’s capital, Islamabad, leaving numerous casualties.

The ministry’s spokesperson, Abdul Qahar Balkhi, stated that the Islamic Emirate condemns such attacks, which disrespect the sanctity of mosques and religious holy sites and deliberately target worshippers and civilians, as a clear violation of Islamic and humanitarian values.

He also extended Afghan government’s heartfelt condolences to the victims’ families and expressed hopes for the quick recovery of those injured.

It’s worth noting that, earlier today, an explosion at a mosque in Islamabad’s Tarlaikalan area resulted in over 200 casualties.
