Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman, leader of Pakistan’s Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI), stated at a joint press conference with Jamaat-e-Islami chief Hafiz Naeem that Pakistan’s existing foreign policy is untenable and urgently needs to restore ties with all neighboring countries.

He added that Pakistan harbors hostility with India and Afghanistan, faces dissatisfaction from China, and has strained relations with Iran, while the United States seeks to use Pakistan as a proxy.

“Considering the regional issues, Pakistan’s foreign policy needs to undergo a significant change,” he said.

Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman stressed that anyone capable of improving bilateral relations should come forward for negotiations to protect Muslim brothers and Muslim countries in the region from any threats.

He further stressed that Pakistan must respect the perspectives of all political parties and leaders regarding foreign policy, noting that this is the only way to steer the country’s relations with regional neighbors in a positive direction.
