The Gaza Civil Defense Authority reported that nearly 8,000 Palestinians who were martyred during years of bombardment and attacks by Israeli occupation forces remain buried beneath rubble and debris, despite ongoing reconstruction and recovery efforts.
Mahmoud Basal, spokesperson for the authority, said that besides these numbers, more than 3,000 others are still missing, and their fate remains unknown.
He added that during the search and recovery efforts, hundreds of bodies were found damaged beyond recognition, while many more remain missing.
Over the past three years of Israeli invasion on Gaza, tens of thousands of people, including women and children, have been martyred or injured, and many bodies remain missing, with their whereabouts still unknown.
