The Pakistani Taliban Movement has said that around 200 Pakistani soldiers attempted to flee from the Bannu Cantonment out of fear of them, but were later recaptured.

The Movement stated that this incident reflects the low morale within the army and shows that the soldiers consider this war not a war for Islam, but a foreign-imposed conflict.

The Pakistani Taliban added that their struggle is not against the people of Pakistan, but against the ruling system that has destroyed the country’s Islamic identity and its economy.

In conclusion, they called on soldiers not to sell their religion and worldly life for a few rupees, to abandon the war, and to seek a lawful livelihood.
