The Ministry of National Defense reports that forces from the 201 Khalid bin Walid Corps, acting on intelligence reports, have intercepted a cache of weapons and contraband in several areas of Nangarhar province.
According to the ministry, the intercepted items include 13 pistols, 10 cartons of firecrackers, and 20 packets of opium.
The ministry added that the items had been smuggled into Afghanistan from Pakistan and were subsequently intercepted by Afghan defense forces.
In the past, Afghan forces have successfully intercepted multiple attempts to smuggle weapons and ammunition into the country from Pakistan.
