Trump’s Continuous Criticism of NATO; Is the U.S. Paving the Way to Join a Potential Turkey–Israel Conflict?

U.S. President Donald Trump has intensified his criticisms of NATO with the start of attacks on Iran. He recently stated that the alliance’s leaders will understand reality only when placed under severe pressure.

Trump has previously called NATO a “paper tiger” and said the U.S. is considering how to withdraw from the organization.

He has also said that America wants Greenland, but NATO is refusing to hand it over; a major source of disagreement, according to him, between Washington and Brussels.

Meanwhile, Joseph Kenet, former head of the U.S. National Counterterrorism Center, said that the U.S. would leave NATO to pave the way for its involvement in a potential future conflict between Turkey and the Zionist regime.

He wrote on his X page: “Unfortunately, leaving NATO will not prevent foreign wars. We will leave NATO to stand with Israel in a Turkey–Israel war in Syria.”

Joseph Kenet also referred to recent developments in Syria but did not provide full details.

Analysts say that both Turkey and the U.S. are currently NATO member states and consider each other allies, making it unlikely that either will take a stance directly against the other.
