Iran’s Foreign Minister, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, said Iran and the United States held the most serious and highest-level talks in 47 years, aimed at ending conflict, but faced obstacles before an agreement was reached.

Araghchi said Iran entered the negotiations in good faith, but both sides faced difficulties before reaching any final understanding.

He did not provide further details, but said that hardline positions, shifting demands, and various obstacles arose during this phase, complicating the talks.

He added that these developments suggest the United States may not have learned lessons from past experiences.

Araghchi also said that mutual behavior directly affects relations between Tehran and Washington, stating “Good intentions lead to good intentions, and hostility breeds hostility.”
