The Foreign Ministry of Syria stated in an official declaration that the US military mission in the country has concluded, with all military bases handed over to Syrian forces.
According to the statement, following the withdrawal of US forces, the Syrian army has taken control of the Qasrak military airbase in Hasakah Province.
The statement further adds that responsibility for counterterrorism operations and maintaining security now lies entirely with the Syrian government. It also notes that this development signals the start of a new phase in diplomatic and economic relations between Damascus and Washington.
