Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS), the state-run electricity company, has launched work on a major 220-kilovolt power transmission project in Kunduz province, connecting the Asqalan substation with Dasht-e Archi district at a cost of 535 million afghanis.
According to the company, the project is expected to be completed within 18 months and will deliver a stable electricity supply to tens of thousands of residents.
Provincial officials in Kunduz and local residents have welcomed the launch of the project, urging the expansion of electricity transmission networks to other districts of the province as well.
