Military Developments of Afghanistan and the Foreign-Backed Stances of the Opponents

When it comes to the protection of a country’s national interests and territory, policies and decisions should be based on maintaining independence, today’s realities, needs, and the safety of the people. Unfortunately, some officials and politicians from the previous republic, who have always prioritized personal interests over national interests, are providing incorrect and incomplete analyzes regarding the new military and technical agreement between Afghanistan and Russia. They try to show the people that this agreement is not in the country’s interest, but in reality, their statements are far from the truth and are merely a political reaction.

The major problem of Afghanistan’s enemies and opponents is that they compare the jihad against the former Soviet Union with today’s relations. At that time, our land was invaded, and the people stood bravely against it, but today Afghanistan is an independent country and, as a free government, makes agreements with the powers of the world and the region based on mutual interests. These relations are not about slavery, but rather about maintaining independence and strengthening the country. This incorrect comparison of the past and present shows that these people still live in the past and cannot understand the needs of the country today.

On the other hand, some of these defeated figures make baseless claims that this agreement supports armed groups. This is while the leaders of the previous administration led the country toward destruction and war with the presence of foreigners, and now they cannot tolerate that a strong and organized government has been established in the country. Instead of supporting the strengthening of their country’s armed forces and the modernization of defense systems, they engage in negative propaganda that only benefits the enemies of the country.

This military and technical cooperation is indeed a very important step for ensuring Afghanistan’s territorial integrity and the security of its people. A country can protect itself against external threats when it has a united people, strong defense equipment, radars, and a well-equipped army. This new agreement with Russia helps Afghanistan strengthen its defense systems and secure its borders so that no one dares to invade. It is the right of every independent government to take such strategic steps for the peace of its people.

The importance and uniqueness of this agreement is also evident from the fact that some of our biased neighbors are extremely anxious and worried about it. They who always wanted Afghanistan to be a defenseless and weak country, so they could pursue their nefarious goals here, are now fearful due to Afghanistan’s military strength. The fear and reaction of the enemies in the region itself proves how right, beneficial, and timely this agreement is for Afghanistan’s national interests, because the concern of the opposing side is always a sign of our strength.

The words of emotional and foreign-minded individuals regarding the military-technical agreement with Russia hold no value in front of the wise people of Afghanistan. Those who led the country toward destruction with their own hands yesterday have no right to judge the country’s defense policies today. This new agreement not only strengthens Afghanistan’s political position in the region but also serves as a firm response to all those who want to see this land perpetually impoverished, weak, and dependent on foreigners.
