The Ministry of Interior Affairs says that security forces discovered and seized 16 pistols and 1,500 rounds of ammunition for the weapons in the “Zhawara” area of Dand Patan district, Paktia province.
According to the ministry, the weapons and ammunition were being smuggled from Pakistan into Afghanistan when they were detected and confiscated by security forces.
The source added that no one has been arrested in connection with the weapons so far, but security forces are continuing efforts to apprehend those involved.
