The Ministry of Defense of Afghanistan issued a statement stating that its air force carried out overnight strikes targeting ISIS and arbakis (pro-government local militias) strongholds in Pakistan’s Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces.
The ministry stated that these locations, with support from “malicious intelligence circles,” were being used to plan attacks against Afghanistan and had previously been used as bases for attacks carried out on Afghan territory.
According to the statement, the strikes hit taregts in the Gulistan area of Qala Abdullah district and the Shakar Ab area of Gardi Jungle in Chaghi district, both in Balochistan, as well as the Qambar Khel area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The Ministry of Defense confirmed that the strikes successfully hit their intended key targets.
The ministry further warned that Afghanistan will not allow any threat to its security and stability to take shape and will use all available means to eliminate such threats before they materialize.
