The Meteorological Directorate of the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation forecast heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning, and possible flash floods in the provinces of Parwan, Kapisa, Panjshir, Paktia, Paktika, Khost, Logar, Maidan Wardak, Samangan, Baghlan, Takhar, Nangarhar, Laghman, Kunar, and Nuristan.
According to the directorate, rainfall in the mentioned provinces is expected to range between 10 and 30 millimeters.
The forecast also warns of strong winds in central, eastern, southeastern, southern, western, and northern provinces of the country.
Meanwhile, the Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority (ANDMA) has urged residents in the affected areas to avoid riverbanks and other locations vulnerable to flooding.
