According to a statement released by the office of U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham, he passed away last night after a brief and sudden illness.
Graham was 71 years old and was one of the Republican Party’s leading and most well-known politicians in the United States.
He had represented the state of South Carolina in the U.S. Senate since 2003.
Graham maintained close political ties with U.S. President Donald Trump. In March of last year, he expressed support for military strikes against Iran and was also regarded as a supporter of Israel’s military campaign in Palestine.
