Reuters reported that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in a phone call with his US counterpart Donald Trump, called for continued dialogue with Iran to reduce tensions between Washington and Tehran.
Erdogan said Turkey is ready to support efforts for a peaceful resolution to tensions between the United States and Iran and to promote peace.
The Turkish Presidency said Erdogan also discussed Iran and the war in Gaza with Trump, stressing that Israel is attacking Palestinians at a time when the second phase of the Gaza peace plan should be implemented.
Meanwhile, the Turkish Foreign Minister discussed with his Iranian counterpart, Abbas Araghchi, the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and the continuation of the ceasefire between the United States and Iran.
