Sources told Voice of Hindukush that Juma Khan Fateh, who had been under heavy siege by Afghan government forces, handed himself over to the forces in Nesi district.
According to the sources, as the siege tightened and the area was surrounded from all sides, Fateh was left with no option but to hand himself over or face death. He ultimately handed himself over to Afghan government forces.
Meanwhile, Qari Fasihuddin Fetrat, Chief of Staff of the Afghan armed forces, had also traveled to Nesi district to oversee the latest operations against Fateh’s group.
The ongoing operations are aimed at disarming all of Fateh’s associates and completely securing the area.
