Deputy Prime Minister’s Office for Economic Affairs said in a statement that Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund today laid the foundation stone for the “Afghanistan Islamic Culture Printing and Publishing Production Center” in Kabul’s Sabz Sanaye Industrial Township.
The project is being carried out by the private Bahir Group company on 110 jeribs of land, with an estimated investment of $75 million. Construction is expected to be completed within two years.
Bahir Group officials said the center will enable Afghanistan to meet its domestic needs for printing and publishing curricula for both religious and modern sciences once it becomes operational. The project is also expected to create jobs for hundreds of Afghans.
