Afghanistan’s Foreign Minister Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi and Zalmay Khalilzad, the former U.S. Special Representative for Afghanistan, have discussed Afghanistan’s current situation, existing opportunities and ways to expand relations between Kabul and Washington.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the two sides discussed Afghanistan’s stability, security, economic growth and self-reliance, as well as opportunities for cooperation and investment in various sectors.
Mawlawi Muttaqi said Afghanistan now has a favorable environment for investment.
Khalilzad praised the security and stability in Afghanistan and the progress made in reconstruction. He expressed hope that Afghanistan would make further progress in economic development and achieving self-reliance.
He also shared his views on expanding Afghanistan-US relations and promoting constructive engagement between the two sides.
