According to international media reports, US forces destroyed five Iranian oil tankers late Tuesday.
US Central Command (CENTCOM) described the strikes as a response to what it called Iran’s latest failed attacks. CENTCOM said US forces targeted four Iranian oil tankers Kaviz, Chaharmenar, Howarain 1, and Risco in the Gulf of Oman, near Iran’s Khark Island. A fifth tanker was also targeted.
Meanwhile, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement that it had attacked the US military’s Al-Azraq Air Base in Jordan in response to American strikes.
The IRGC said the area where combat aircraft were stationed had been targeted.
Iranian media also claimed that the IRGC used cluster missiles in the attack on the Jordanian base.
