Da Afghanistan Breshna Shirkat (DABS) said in a statement that its Chief Executive Officer, Mullah Abdul Haq, held talks with Tajikistan’s Minister of Energy and Water Resources, Daler Juma, on expanding electricity cooperation, increasing electricity imports from Tajikistan, and developing electricity transmission infrastructure.
During the meeting, the two sides also discussed a plan to construct a 500-kilovolt electricity transmission line through Tajikistan to Afghanistan and onward to Iran, as well as future energy projects in Badakhshan and the border districts. They emphasized cooperation to ensure a stable electricity supply in these areas.
Both sides stressed the need for practical follow-up on the issues discussed and emphasized the continuation and expansion of cooperation in the energy sector.
