US Central Command (CENTCOM) chief Admiral Brad Cooper has presented Donald Trump with potential military options for renewed strikes against Iran during a White House meeting, Anadolu Agency reported.
Citing The Wall Street Journal, Anadolu reported that the meeting was attended by US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Dan Caine and several other Cabinet members. The meeting came a day after military officials held separate talks with Vice President JD Vance.
The Trump administration is now weighing the possibility of launching a new military campaign against Iran following US and Israeli strikes earlier this year, according to the report.
In recent weeks, the United States has strengthened its air defense capabilities in the Middle East and deployed additional ammunition and other military equipment to the region. It has also relocated some troops from bases considered vulnerable to potential Iranian retaliatory attacks.
