Anadolu Agency reports that the French government will deploy 70,000 police officers and security personnel across the country on Saturday to prevent potential violence and maintain public order during planned demonstrations.
French Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez said security measures would be tightened in several cities, with restrictions imposed on demonstrations in areas considered at high risk of unrest.
He warned that unauthorized gatherings and demonstrations posing a risk of violence would be dispersed, while protests approved by local authorities would be allowed to proceed.
The demonstrations began in mid-September as student protests but later spread, fueled by public frustration over the rising cost of living, higher fuel prices and demands for social justice. Large-scale demonstrations took place in several cities on October 17 and 24, some of which were accompanied by clashes and public disorder.
