Acting Foreign Minister Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi announced that the interim government successfully elevated its diplomatic representation to the level of ambassador in Russia, Turkey, and Pakistan over the past year.
Speaking at an event highlighting the annual achievements of government authorities, Muttaqi said that a formal ambassador will soon be appointed to Kazakhstan as well.
He added that during the same period, diplomatic envoys were also sent to Germany, Norway, India, and Indonesia.
Muttaqi emphasized that, guided by an economy-focused foreign policy and with the coordination of relevant government bodies, the interim government achieved meaningful progress in key regional initiatives. These include the signing of a feasibility study for the Trans-Afghan Railway, the official launch of work on the TAPI pipeline, and advancements in other connectivity projects such as CASA-1000 and the Lapis Lazuli Corridor.
He further stated that Kabul hosted high-level delegations over the past year from Russia, Belarus, the United States, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Iran, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Indonesia, as well as from the United Nations and other international organizations.
