Sheikh Abdul Ghaffar Bahr, the Afghan ambassador to Uzbekistan, attended a joint conference of Afghan and Uzbek scholars, hosted by the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan in Tashkent.

The Afghan embassy in Tashkent reported that the conference was held under the theme “The Role of Imam Burhan al-Din Marghinani’s Scholarly Legacy in Contemporary Islamic Knowledge.”

In his address, Ambassador Bahr noted the significance of the shared scholarly and jurisprudential heritage between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan, noting that such conferences help reinforce both intellectual and religious connections.

He further stated that broadening academic and scholarly cooperation could lay a stronger foundation for mutual understanding, regional stability, and constructive bilateral relations between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan.
