The National Disaster Management and Preparedness Authority announced signing a $456,866 cooperation agreement with the OMAR Mine Clearance Organization.
Under the agreement, the organization will clear 1,677,000 square meters of land contaminated with unexploded ordnance in the provinces of Paktia, Paktika, and Khost.
According to the authority, the OMAR Mine Clearance Organization will also form emergency response teams in the three provinces and provide unexploded ordnance risk awareness programs to 25,000 people.
