Afghanistan’s Foreign Minister, Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, spoke by phone with his Turkish counterpart, Hakan Fidan, on regional issues, with particular focus on the recent situation between Afghanistan and Pakistan.

According to the Ministry, Mr. Muttaqi expressed the Islamic Emirate’s principled stance regarding recent developments and stated that the recent actions of Afghanistan’s security and defense forces were carried out to protect the country’s sovereignty, airspace, and territorial integrity, and that the designated objectives have been successfully achieved.

He emphasized that since its inception, the Islamic Emirate has not supported violence and has always preferred resolving issues based on mutual understanding and respect; however, this approach will only succeed if the opposing side also demonstrates practical and sincere intent to find solutions.

At the same time, Turkey’s Foreign Minister praised Afghanistan’s peaceful stance and stated that Turkey is coordinating with relevant and like-minded countries to make joint efforts to calm the situation and reduce violence.
